The Ministry of Economic Development and Industry of the region has been appointed by the authorized executive authority of the Komi Republic to prepare an application for the creation of a special economic zone of the industrial and production type "North" on the territory of the municipal district "Syktyvkar" in the Komi Republic. When preparing the application, the agency will cooperate with the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation. This decision was made on June 30 by the Government of the Komi Republic in accordance with the Federal Law "On Special Economic Zones in the Russian Federation", Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation No. 398 of April 26, 2012 "On approval of the criteria for the creation of a special Economic zone" and Order of the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation No. 439 of July 19, 2012 "On Approval of the Procedure for Registration and Submission of an Application for the creation of a special Economic zone".

In the near future, the Ministry of Economic Development and Industry of the Komi Republic will create an interdepartmental working group that will form and submit an application for the creation of a special economic zone.
